Blaze Hits Bronx Church

A mysterious fire tore through a Bronx church yesterday, sending the pastor and parishioners scrambling for their lives.

The blaze broke out in a storage room at St. Nicholas of Tolentine in University Heights.

More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze for an hour before getting it under control. Some firefighters reported minor injuries when part of the ceiling fell.

"The whole vestibule is damaged. The ceiling, the walls and the doors," said Father Joseph Tran, a priest at the church.
