MYFOXNY.COM - A brownstone in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in Brooklyn went up in smoke late Wednesday night.

Police say one person was killed and two were injured.

Neighbors tell Fox 5 Reporter John Huddy that the victims are of the same family.

A man, 35 years old, was rushed to Interfaith Hospital at around 10:30 p.m. where he was pronounced dead.

The other victims, an 81-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman are in stable condition. John Huddy reports the elderly man celebrated his birthday the same day of the fire.

The flames broke out at 732 Decatur Street in a three-story house. Fire officials say the flames were brought under control at around 11:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
