NYC Firefighters, Marines to Hold Terror Drill

Associated Press - April 22, 2010

NEW YORK (AP) - Firefighters and U.S. Marines will be conducting a large-scale drill simulating a response to a terror attack on a New York City bus and subway.

Authorities say Thursday morning's drill at the FDNY's Fire Academy on Randall's Island will involve the use of a burned-out city bus and the fire department's subway simulator.

Local first-responders and Marines will test coordinated responses to a terror attack, including the release of a toxin in a subway car.

About 200 firefighters and Marines will take part in the exercise.
