Special Business
1. Rally to Save the Firehouses at City Hall Park
The UFA and UFOA are holding a 'Save the Firehouses' rally on June 3rd at 12 noon. The event stage/platform will be set up on Broadway at the South Tip of City Hall Park
2. March Over Brooklyn Bridge
Immediately prior to the City Hall Park rally on June 3rd, the UFA and UFOA Executive Boards will be leading a limited march over the Brooklyn Bridge, beginning at Cadman Plaza West and Middagh Street, ending at City Hall Park. We will muster at 10:30am, and then begin our march over the bridge.
3. Firehouse OOS Notification System Data Forms Needed!
The UFA's Mobile Media Firehouse Out-of-Service Alert System, which was demonstrated at the UFA Delegate Education Seminar, cannot go live until all Delegates return their company cell phone number lists. UFA Recording Secretary Joe Miccio is collecting lists today--or fax your list immediately to 212-683-4359. This will enable any member of your unit to have the UFA send instantaneous warning notifications to your local elected officials--without a trace back to the individual sender. The system is unable to recognize messages from your unit unless your unit members' cell numbers are uploaded.
4. UFA Radio Ad Campaign
The UFA launched its second hard hitting radio commercial on May 24th to draw attention to Mayor Bloomberg's attempt to close 20 fire companies which respond to and protect 80 neighborhoods across New York City. The campaign titled, "6-8 Minutes Left to Live" appears on eight leading New York City radio stations. CLICK HERE to Listen
5. Firehouse Rallies List
CLICK HERE for a list of confirmed rallies at local firehouses. This list will be continually updated on the UFA website Events Calendar.
Fraternally,
Stephen J. Cassidy,
President
