New York City Fire Marshals have elected F.M. Robert McDevitt to serve as Fire Marshal Representative to the Uniformed Firefighters Association (UFA) for a term to begin May 1, 2010. F.M. McDevitt received 53 percent of the ballots cast.

The American Arbitration Association oversaw the ballot count on February 5 for the UFA position, under the observation of the UFA Election Committee. 93 valid ballots were returned & counted as follows:

Robert McDevitt: 49 (53%)

Lester Layne: 23 (24%)

Brian Watson: 14 (15%)

Thomas Sabella: 7 (8%)

The UFA Executive Board offers its congratulations to Fire Marshal Robert McDevitt and appreciation to current Fire Marshal Lester Layne for his service.
